Chicken farm disinfection and strict health management

First, chicken farm disinfection

Disinfection of chicken farms is to eliminate or extinguish pathogenic microorganisms by means of disinfection, cutting off some of the levels of transmission and achieve the purpose of disease prevention.

Chicken disease spreads mainly through the level. This spread includes contact with diseased chickens, contaminated grass bedding, pathogenic airborne dust, feed and drinking water that have been contacted with diseased chickens, and wild bird insects with pathogens. There are many diseases that spread through the level, such as Newcastle disease, Marek's disease, chicken cholera, and living white worms. In the same broiler house, adjacent chicken houses, the spread of infectious diseases in neighboring chicken farms is spread in this way, and is the most common and most widespread mode of transmission.

The disinfection of chicken farms is very important. Modern chicken farms implement highly intensive chicken raising and strive to keep the most chickens in the smallest space to reduce costs. The large stocking density and fast turnover are one of the characteristics of modern chicken breeding. Because of this, it brings very convenient conditions for the spread of diseases. Once an infectious disease occurs, the spread will be very rapid.

Because chickens grow rapidly and have a short and fast growing period, it is easier to spread diseases among groups of different ages in chicken farms. It is also easy to introduce foreign diseases into chicken farms during transportation. Therefore, the disinfection requirements of the chicken farm are very strict and thorough. If there is slight negligence, the disease will be caused. Without a strict disinfection and epidemic prevention chicken farms, it is difficult to stand up. Some large chicken farms have achieved great economic benefits due to strict disinfection and epidemic prevention measures.

Good or bad disinfection work is a crucial factor in controlling the success or failure of chicken farms. Frequently encountered in chicken farms where disinfection work is well done, infectious diseases do not occur or rarely occur. Even without vaccine immunity, infectious diseases do not occur. On the contrary, the disinfected chicken farms or incompletely sterilized chicken farms are not valued. Although all vaccines are immune, infectious diseases still occur frequently.

The relationship between the occurrence and disinfection of chicken Marek’s disease is a typical example, see Marek’s disease.

The standard for measuring the quality of disinfection work is currently assessed by bacteriological tests. Since the artificial cultivation of the virus is very complicated, the killing rate of the virus is based on the killing rate of the bacteria. The two are directly proportional to each other.

When disinfecting, it should be noted that the presence of organic substances will affect the disinfection effect, such as feces, chicken feathers, etc., so it must be cleaned before disinfection to ensure the disinfection effect.

Disinfection is the most effective way to fight infectious diseases by eliminating pathogens from outside and cutting off the route of transmission.

According to the disinfection of objects and disinfection facilities, chicken farms often carry out the following disinfection:

1. Disinfection between chicken farms and the outside world

The chicken farm will strictly separate the production area from the life administrative area and avoid frequent contact with personnel in the production area. The most common way to disinfect is the vehicle disinfection pool and the pedal disinfection pool that the staff passed. This is the first line of defense against the introduction of pathogens into chicken houses.

Vehicle disinfection pool: 1% to 2% caustic soda water can be used. The disinfection tank should be of sufficient length, generally the perimeter of a car wheel, so that all incoming vehicles can pass. The carriage of chickens should be washed after use every day, and then sprayed with 2% to 3% of Suer.

Pedal Disinfection Pool: It is a disinfecting pool that the staff walks when walking in and out of the production area. It can use caustic soda or quaternary ammonium salts as disinfectant. At the same time, a UV lamp should be installed above the disinfection tank to use ultraviolet light to kill pathogens that may be suspended in the air.

The above two kinds of disinfection pool should pay attention to: Do not direct sunlight, sunlight can destroy drugs; organic matter, such as feces, sludge can reduce the virulence of drugs; regular replacement of liquid; choose the most effective drugs. Tests have shown that in a manure-containing compound phenol disinfectant pool, the total number of bacteria in the disinfectant solution has reached 8.8 million per milliliter after 6 days, and 18 million per milliliter after 4 days in the iodophor disinfectant tank; in the cationic detergent tank, only 100 bacteria/ml. Disinfection tanks in chicken farms should have special veterinarians responsible for supervising disinfection and liquid replacement.

2, the staff's disinfection?

Chicken farm staff is an important carrier of pathogens, so people entering the production area must be strictly sterilized. Workers in the chicken house in the chicken farmyard are forbidden to use skewer houses to prevent the infection of pathogens in the houses. When necessary, staff wear uniforms, caps, shoes, etc. to stay in the original chicken house, and then change their own house when the designated chicken house.

Replace with clean and disinfected work clothes and caps: Work clothes and caps should be cleaned and replaced on a regular basis. The cleaned work clothes can be sterilized by sunlight or formalin fumigation. Workwear must not be worn out of the production area.

Hand disinfection: After washing hands with soap, the staff is immersed in a 1:1000 solution of Xinjieer for 3 to 5 minutes, rinsed with water and wiped dry.

Disinfection of foot: Workers should wear water shoes or other special shoes in the production area and enter the production area through a pedal disinfection tank.

Disinfection tanks should be set up at the entrances of chicken coops in the production area.

3, empty house disinfection?

The entire chicken house adopts a system of “all-in, all-out,” and the stricter disinfection of chicken houses is a powerful measure to eliminate infectious diseases. Good sterilisation of the sheds can provide safer conditions for each batch of chickens and increase the bred rate. The disinfection procedure is as follows:

Cleaning: After all the chickens have been put out, sweep chicken excrement, litter, dust on the ceiling, and spider web out of the house.

Rinse: Rinse the chicken house, especially the ground, walls, and cages of the house with a high-pressure water gun. After the floor is dry, it is best to use a flame sterilizer for better results.

Spraying of disinfecting drugs: The ground wall dwarf should be sprayed with hot caustic soda water or lime milk. For chicken cages and roofs, use non-corrosive disinfectant medicinal high-pressure water guns or agricultural sprayers to disinfect the chicken cages and roofs. .

Fumigation disinfection: conditional chicken farms, this time the chicken house should be idle for 2 to 3 weeks before use, emergency, you can proceed to the next step, that is, fumigation. Close all doors and windows closed, calculate the amount of formaldehyde and potassium permanganate used, depending on the degree of contamination of the chicken house increase or decrease. The amount of formaldehyde and potassium permanganate used in the table below.

Closed fumigation 24 to 48 hours after ventilation, winter fumigation to increase the temperature and humidity. After the above program disinfection of the chicken house, the bacteria kill rate can reach 95% to 97%, fully qualified.
