Turning green wheat and fertilizing water should be careful

As the wheat enters the green-up stage, many farmers are preparing to apply water back to Qingshui, while Others are trying to collect water from ditches. The author would like to remind everyone: when wheat turns green, it's crucial to use fertilizers with care. The key factor affecting wheat growth during this period is not water but temperature. Although temperatures gradually rise in spring, nighttime temperatures remain low, and the ideal conditions for wheat development have not yet been reached. If the soil is sufficiently moist, the main focus of field management should be on warming the ground by loosening the soil. Soil temperature is closely linked to moisture levels. In our province, spring weather is often windy and rainy, with frequent cold spells. Early spring watering can cause a significant drop in field temperature, which is harmful to wheat after it greens up. Cold air can also lead to frost damage, so it’s important not to blindly apply water. The timing and method of green water application must be scientifically managed. Overuse of fertilizer in spring can lead to inefficient labor, excessive plant growth, and increase the risk of lodging and pest infestations. First, the timing of green water application should be based on soil moisture conditions. Before winter, avoid watering frozen soil. For fields with poor preparation, severe gaps, or weak wheat growth due to drought, timely irrigation is necessary. However, watering should only occur when the average daily temperature reaches 3°C or higher. Generally, if the soil allows, it’s better to delay or avoid watering until the time of jointing or stem elongation. For small or weak winter wheat, you may combine watering with topdressing urea at 10 kg per acre, and plan for pest control accordingly. Second, the amount of water applied should be carefully controlled. Due to fluctuating temperatures and alternating cold and warm airflows in early spring, it's important to apply just the right amount. Avoid flooding, as it can cause cold stress and lower ground temperatures, potentially leading to frost damage. Third, the decision to apply green water should depend on the condition of the wheat seedlings. If there are few tillers and insufficient panicles due to poor fertility (with about 500,000 stems per mu before winter), applying water combined with 7.5–10 kg of urea per acre, plus 5–7.5 kg of potassium sulfate or chloride, can help promote early tiller growth and maximize panicle numbers, laying the foundation for high yields. For late-sown wheat with more than 900,000 stems per mu, or where water is sufficient, it’s usually unnecessary to water back to Qingshui. Focus instead on loosening the soil and maintaining warmth, and limit the growth of early spring tillers. If the field lacks moisture and cold weather occurs, timely watering is still necessary to prevent seedling death. In summary, green water application should be tailored to the land and the crop’s condition. Avoid blind practices to prevent unnecessary losses.

Pipettes

Pipettes are among the standard equipment of medical laboratory and allow for exact dosing of liquids, e.g. during blood analysis or for determination of various substance concentrations. Depending upon purpose of use, various pipette types are used in laboratories. Pipettes are completed by various sizes of pipette tips. Choosing the right pipette tip comes down to the pipette quality relevant to the devices precision.

Yingmed offers a selection of pipettes and various pipette tips for you. With the Number reading variable volume pipette, you can easily choose the desired volume with the push of a button; measurement errors are virtually completely eliminated. When it comes to pipette tips, you have the choice between many sizes.
