Japan successfully developed a medical robot

Japan successfully developed a medical robot Recently, CYBERDYNE, a robotic innovation company from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, announced that it has established a subsidiary in Germany. In the future, HAL, a medical robot developed by the company, will officially launch a rehabilitation medical service in Europe.

HAL is a mechanical garment that helps the patients to move their hands and feet through reading signals from the brain to the muscles through sensors. It is developed by Professor Tsuyoshi Tsukagi of Tsukuba University. Patients who have difficulty walking because of spinal cord injury and stroke can wear it for rehabilitation training to improve walking ability.

The company expects to enter the Austrian and Swiss markets as soon as next year and is preparing to launch HAL in the United States.

About 160 hospitals and welfare facilities in Japan introduced the robot, and about 400 have been put into use.
