South China early rice needs to be cooked at high temperature

At present, the southern early rice is in the middle and late stage of grouting. According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days, there will be a relatively large range of high-temperature weather in Jianghan, Jiangnan and central and northern parts of South China. At a time when the production of early rice production is at a critical stage, sustained high-temperature weather may lead to high-temperature ripening of early rice, which will adversely affect yield formation.

The Ministry of Agriculture attaches great importance to this issue and issues early-warning information in a timely manner. It requires the relevant provinces and districts to do a good job of preventing high-temperature heat damage as soon as possible to ensure the safety and maturity of early rice. Formulate plans for prevention of high temperature and heat damage as early as possible, and prepare materials and technical preparations for defense against high temperature and heat damage in advance. Strengthen the contact with meteorological departments, pay close attention to weather changes, timely release early warning information, and promptly implement various defense measures. The Ministry of Agriculture requires all localities to combine local agricultural production practices and quickly implement targeted disaster relief measures. Cooling with water, taking deep irrigation in the field, night irrigation, spraying water, foliar spraying of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, etc., to reduce the impact of high temperature. Strengthen the prevention and control of pests and diseases that focus on the “two migrations” of rice pests, and implement specialized unified defense rules to effectively reduce pest and disease losses.
