Ornamental pepper is a perennial herb belonging to the genus Capsicum of the Solanaceae family. Because of its low ornamental value, it is often cultivated as a flower or two. Stem stout, much branched, leaves green, flowers white. The fruit is berry, solitary or clustered, erect, slightly sloping or sagging. Fruits vary in shape, such as balls, cones, fingers, shofar, wind chimes, and persimmons. Before ripening, depending on the variety, the fruit has green, white, black and purple colors, and after ripening, it is bright red, yellow, orange, purple brown, black purple and other colors. Its surface is shiny, smooth and smooth, like wax crafts. During cultivation, when the true leaves of ornamental peppers reach about 10 slices, the top growth point should be cut off, and the “topping heart” should be called to promote branching and result. During the growth period, attention should be paid to pruning and brushing the shoots to remove the branches that affect the appearance of the plant in order to maintain a neat and complete canopy form, and ensure that the plants have good ventilation and light transmission, and increase the fruit setting rate and fruit ornamental value. When the skin of ripe fruit is wrinkled, pay attention to harvesting so that it can bloom continuously and the result. In the winter, when the room is shifted to about 10°C, the plants are often sprayed with water to prevent the fruit from shrinking due to air drying. The viewing period can be extended to December. Ornamental pepper can also be planted in teapots, teacups, craft bamboo and other vessels, after trimming and wire, copper wire and other methods of modeling, made bonsai or potted plants.

Ornamental peppers can be planted in spring or autumn, and they will emerge 7 to 10 days after sowing, and 3 to 5 true leaves will appear as seedlings.
