Experts from the College of Resource and Environmental Management at Hubei University have demonstrated for many years that this "biological floating island" has successfully cultivated over 40 tropical terrestrial water-loving plants, including 4 types of living vegetables, flowers, green feed and paper-making raw materials. According to Prof. Lu Jindeng, who participated in this project, the water quality of the surface water environment in China has been not optimistic in recent years. Many rivers and lakes have been polluted and the water quality has become eutrophic. This technology not only has ecological benefits, but also has many other Benefits: The flowers that have been consistently grown on the land are moved to the polluted lake, which gives the lake its ornamental value.
