Application of non-invasive micro-testing technology NMT: How to use micro-means to study environmental macro-problems?

Author: Xu Click to view more of his autobiography

At present, the use of microscopic research to reveal macroscopic scientific issues seems to be a trend. The reason is that after knowing how the macro changes, if you want to change the macro effect, you still have to start from the micro. For example, some scientists want to eliminate the greenhouse effect by screening algae with high carbon dioxide fixed efficiency. The following are the teachers who are accustomed to the macro research ideas, and analyze and answer some common problems encountered in the early stage of non-invasive micro-testing technology NMT.

1. The application of NMT in the environmental field is currently very rare. Can you tell me directly what NMT can do for me?

Non-invasive micro-testing technology NMT is a tool that detects the exchange of information between living organisms and the external environment through ion molecular velocity detection.

Then NMT can help environmental scientists do the following work:

1) Study the effects of toxic and hazardous substances in the environment on various physiological functions in the living state of living organisms;

2) Based on research 1) Exploring the formation of 'environmental pollution biological evaluation methods' based on the biological functions of living organisms;

3) Study the effects of nutrients on various physiological functions in the living state of the living environment;

4) Optimization of filtration performance of various biofilms;

5) Screening of heavy metal accumulation plants;

6) Optimization of the target physiological function of algae and microbial symbionts;

7) Screening of eutrophicated restoration plants;

8) physical characteristics of environmental solid contaminants (such as sludge) (such as O 2 distribution);

9) Research on water quality monitoring methods based on living biological signals;

10) Evaluation and research on environmental remediation of nanometers or the ability of composite plants to resist pollution;

11) Optimization and evaluation of performance of biofuel cells based on biophysiological activity;

At present, there are few documents, and it is a good opportunity for scientists to seize the world's scientific research highlands in their respective fields!

2. The water safety testing project is a new testing method based on NMT. How to determine that the reference water source is qualified? If it is not possible to determine whether the reference water source is qualified, the measured data of the “water source to be tested” is inconsistent with the conclusion drawn from the reference water source.

Xuyue's water safety testing project is an attempt to use NMT technology for the detection of living biological environmental pollution, which is still in the process of continuous exploration.

Xuyue's reference water comes from two aspects, one is the tap water that meets the national drinking water standard, and the other is the self-configured 'Xuyue Biological Water'. Through our experiments, there is no significant difference between the two results.

3. Can the research that separates the organelles and cut the roots of the plants "non-injury"?

Non-invasive micro-testing technology is based on the different treatment of the tested materials by the scientific research personnel, and is absolutely non-injured and relatively non-injured.

For example, when putting a 3, 4 day Arabidopsis seedling or a few millimeters of nematodes into the NMT system and providing them with an optimal external environment, this is an absolute non-injury. If the roots of Arabidopsis are cut, or the muscle tissue of the nematode is isolated, and then NMT is detected, it is relatively non-invasive.

4. Can plants that are placed in the soil be tested? Repeat performance guarantee?

In order to make good use of a new technology, we must first understand its characteristics in order to make full use of it. Will not make mistakes in the hospital with a ring necklace for nuclear magnetic examination.

NMT is characterized by not touching the material being tested, but it must work in a liquid environment. Therefore, in order to quickly and easily use NMT and obtain reproducible data, it is obvious that researchers need to transfer their materials from soil culture to hydroponics in order to make better use of the advantages of NMT. Otherwise the repeatability of the data is difficult to guarantee.

Professor Chen Shaoliang of Beijing Forestry University, one of the first pioneers of Chinese NMT scientists, spent half a year to turn the past poplar roots into sand and hydroponic culture, laying the foundation for the subsequent rapid output of NMT data.

5. No, my plant material must be soiled. Can NMT do it? Repeat performance guarantee?

Can do it!

The key here is how to maintain the soil culture environment of the plant while providing a liquid environment in which the NMT can work. For example, the researcher can design a device for the part of the soil material to be tested, which can expose the measured part and put the test solution into the NMT test.

NMT's non-invasive characteristics of the materials that are not in contact with the tested materials provide researchers with a very large and personalized experimental design space, which naturally provides a rare opportunity for scientific research and innovation.

6. I heard that it is not easy to get reproducible vital physiological data. Is NMT the same?

As with any other technology, experimental design and material preparation are key to getting good data. In short, no matter how simple and fast NMT is, it is unrealistic to rely on NMT to make up for the lack of genetic work.

Our experience is to first use the characteristics of NMT rapid qualitative (drug treatment and other experiments), to first understand the 'temperament' of their experimental materials, and then carry out batch data quantification work.

7. I am studying environmental ecology. Is it relatively macroscopic, can I use NMT?

The application of microdata to explain and study macro ecological phenomena and problems has become a trend in recent years.

The high-yield rice produced by Academician Yuan Longping also brought about ecological problems such as environmental pollution and eutrophication of excessive use of chemical fertilizers. Xu Yue's NMT helped Yuan Yuanping, the academician, to answer a question, that is, how much fertilizer they have in their hybrid rice is just enough to reduce environmental problems.

For existing environmental problems, how to understand the causes from the micro, and to find solutions to problems from the micro, NMT will be useful!

Semaglutide Pen Injector

Semaglutide pen injector is a medical device used to administer semaglutide, a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. The pen injector is a prefilled, disposable pen that contains a fixed dose of semaglutide. It is designed to make it easy for patients to self-administer the medication with a single injection once a week. The pen injector is equipped with a needle that is inserted into the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm to deliver the medication. The semaglutide pen injector is a convenient and effective way to manage type 2 diabetes, as it helps to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of complications associated with the condition.
