Laminar flow clean bench, also called laminar flow hood, is on a table or the like housing it has its own supply of filtered air. The ultra-clean workbench was developed as an auxiliary clean room technology (to prevent the need for pollution work).
At the ultra-clean workbench , ensure that the work on the bench is only protected by HEPA filtered air. It is recommended for use in non-dangerous goods that require clean, particle-free air quality. It does not provide protection to personnel or to the surrounding environment, nor is it intended to contain aerosols generated by the program; users are exposed to these aerosols.
What is laminar flow?
A common attribute in ultra-clean workbench technology is laminar flow. It is generally defined that laminar flow is the entire body within which air in the air stream moves within a restricted area of ​​unidirectional velocity along parallel flow lines.
The ultra-clean workbench or "hood" has its own HEPA filtered air supply work area. The protection is provided by capturing the indoor air, passing the air through the HEPA filter, and directing the filtered air horizontally toward the user at a constant speed over the entire working surface.
In a horizontal laminar flow clean bench , the indoor air is drawn into the hood by the blower/motor through a washable, reusable pre-filter. The hood passes through the HEPA filter and the air is pushed up to the plenary. The filtered air is oriented horizontally across the work surface at 100 FPM towards the user's constant velocity.
