Taiwan uses genetic engineering technology to cultivate successful sesame nutrition rice

Researchers at the Zhongxing University Research Institute in Taiwan in China have recently used genetic engineering technology to increase the nutritional value of rice and cultivate successful sesame nutrition rice. The researchers implanted the gene for Sesame 2S albumin into Tainan No. 67 strain of rice and developed a new rice variety containing Sesame 2S albumin, named Sesame Rice. Sesame nutrition rice mainly increases the content of methionine (or methionine) in rice protein, making the amino acid composition of rice protein more in line with the needs of the human body and increasing the nutritional value. In general, plant protein is lower in methionine than animal protein, but sesame is rich in methionine. Studies have found that sesame methionine comes from a seed storage protein called 2S albumin.
