March 1 (Dormancy Period):
During this time, focus on preventing and managing diseases such as ring rot, cankers, and other branch-related issues, as well as overwintering pests like lice, fleas, and mites.
1. Treat old, rough bark, diseased areas, and lesions to promote healthy growth.
2. Prune affected shoots and remove fallen leaves to reduce disease spread.
3. Apply a diluted solution of 9281 or a strong ring pattern net 5-10 times. This helps in strengthening the tree’s resistance.
4. For severe infestations of locusts in the orchard, spray 40% emulsion at 1,500 times dilution, and wipe with oil at the same concentration. Adding Jinyuan brand penetration agents can enhance the effectiveness of these treatments.
Late March to Mid-April (Before Flowering):
This is a critical period for controlling diseases like ring rot, scab, and powdery mildew, as well as overwintering pests such as cockroaches, beetles, and aphids. It's also important to manage physiological issues like leaf curl, fruit shrinkage, and bitter pit.
1. Spray Li Ribar at 50–80 times dilution or Strong Ring Pattern Net at 30–50 times, along with 5° Baume lime sulfur.
2. Use 20% triadimefon EC at 1,500 times dilution.
3. Apply 40% annihilation emulsion or 1,500 times dilution of another suitable insecticide.
4. Use 25% diflubenzuron at 1,500 times.
Make sure to thoroughly treat main branches and lesions, and check roots and trunks to prevent root rot.
Mid-May (Flowering):
Focus on preventing fungal heart rot, ring rot, spotted defoliation, and bitter bean disease, while controlling pests like yellow jackets, cottonseed worms, cockroaches, subalgae, and leaf roller moths.
1. Spray 10% WP or 6% DTPA at 3,000 times dilution.
2. Mix 30% mothite ling at 1,500 times with 70% ketamine at 800 times.
3. Apply 1.5% polyoxin at 300–500 times or 10% Polyana at 1,200 times, combined with 70% thiophanate-methyl at 800 times.
4. Use ammoniacal calcium or amino acid calcium at 400 times.
Remove weeds like leeks and apply two or more life- or amino acid-based compound fertilizers to support tree health.
Late May to Early June (Fruit Set):
Prevent fruit and leaf diseases, and control pests like Lepidoptera, Astragalus, and cotton aphids.
1. Spray 80% mancozeb or Dasheng M-45 at 800 times, or 50% acetamiprid wettable powder at 1,000–1,500 times.
2. Use Xin eugenol or diflubenzuron No. 3 at 1,500 times, or moth albuginea at 2,000 times.
3. Apply 40% annihilating emulsion at 1,500 times; it is especially effective against apple aphids. Diflubenzuron No. 3 is effective against Prunus maculata eggs. Avoid using tyranny on Astragalus.
Mid-June to Early July:
Control diseases like ringworm, spotted defoliation, and fruit/leaf diseases, as well as Lepidoptera pests like Astragalus, bollworms, and leaf rollers.
1. Bag fruits 35–40 days after bloom and again 10–15 days later.
2. Before bagging, spray 800 times dilution of a fungicide or 50% carbendazim at 600 times. After bagging, use 1:2:200 Bordeaux mixture.
3. Apply Qiqisu, Xinyou EC, diflubenzuron, avermectin, or Bt as needed.
4. Use Dasheng or mancozeb at 800 times, which can be used interchangeably with "Jia Tuo + Duokangmeisu."
After full bagging, only use Bordeaux mixture or green copper milk. Do not exceed 2.5 applications of lime.
Mid-July to Early August:
Prevent fruit and leaf diseases, and manage caterpillars and other Lepidoptera pests.
1. Alternate between 12% green milk emulsion at 600 times or 1:3:200 Bordeaux mixture with Puff or Dasheng-M800.
2. Reapply 1.5% polyoxin at 300–500 times for spotted defoliation.
3. Use diflubenzuron 3, Bt, or abamectin.
Avoid using doxorubicin with Bordeaux mixture, as it is ineffective against spotted leaf disease.
Late August:
Continue to prevent fruit and leaf diseases, and control various Lepidoptera pests.
1. Alternate between 12% green milk emulsion at 600–800 times or 1:2.5:200 Bordeaux mixture with Puff or Dasheng-M800.
2. Spray 1–2 times of octyl urea EC or diflubenzuron 3, Bt, or abamectin.
3. Use 30% mothraxine at 2,000 times.
Be cautious when using certain products, as they may harm beneficial organisms. Bordeaux mixture should be applied three times in June, July, and August.
September to October:
Focus on controlling fruit diseases, pre-harvest fruit drop, and fruit rot.
1. Spray 70% chlorpromazine or carbendazim at 800–1,000 times, or mildew clear at the same dilution.
2. Use green milk copper at 600–800 times or 1:3:200 Bordeaux mixture.
3. Apply Jia Tuo at 800 times, along with life or amino acid (humic acid) micro-fertilizers.
4. Use 30% Depronone at 1,500 times.
Note that micro-film bags should not be removed. Only carbendazim containing gangomycin is effective against rot, and diflubenzuron has specific effects on P. pica.
After Harvest to Leaf Fall:
Prevent overwintering pests and disease sources.
1. Spray 40% annihilating emulsion at 1,500 times to control cottonseed meal.
2. Clear the orchard after leaf fall and spray the entire tree at 100 times dilution.
