Tomato air-discharge storage method

Air discharge storage of fruits and vegetables is a new technology in recent years. Its main basis is that free oxygen ions can inhibit the growth of pathogens, and can also oxidize and decompose ethylene. However, I- and I+ can interfere with the ionization balance of fruits and vegetables and affect the metabolic process. Therefore, the ripening of fruits and vegetables can be prolonged and the decay can be suppressed. Although this method has not been widely used for storage and reduction of tomatoes at present, according to experiments, it also has a certain effect on the preservation of tomatoes, in the future is likely to become a preservation method for tomatoes or other fruits and vegetables. China's current research and production of air-discharge preservative units is mainly the Huazhong University of Technology's high-pressure teaching and research section. The air discharge fresh-keeping machine manufactured by it adopts a combined electrode structure of turbulent non-uniform electric field silent discharge and corona discharge, and can release I-, I+, O and O-, which is a more advanced type at home and abroad. The use of air-discharge preservation and preservation of fresh tomatoes is currently limited to the use of plastic film packaging. The tomatoes are harvested during the green season, and the fruits with sufficient development, disease-free and harmlessness are selected and put into the box or plastic box. Each box is suitable for about 10-15 kg, and the cover is 0.06-0.08 mm thick polyethylene plastic. Film, the method is similar to small package storage. Bags are tied with rubber bands to prevent leakage. During processing, the opening of the bag is connected to the outlet of the discharge machine, and gas is blown into the bag to generate gas. This is done regularly and regularly selected. According to tests conducted by Huazhong Agricultural University, air-discharged storage of tomatoes is better when combined with 1 and O. The treatment time was lower for the previous period (20 minutes/day) and the later high dose (30 minutes/day) (according to the prototype of Huazhong University of Technology). Because such early low doses can interfere with the metabolic effects of tomato fruits and reduce the ethylene concentration, the later high doses can also inhibit the growth of the fungus and prevent tomato rot. Air discharge as a method or auxiliary method of storage and preservation, although at room temperature, although there is a certain effect, but if combined with low temperature and other auxiliary means, such as pharmaceutical treatment, then the effect will be improved. As with other storage methods, tomatoes are usually stored for about one month, and too long may lead to increased rot.
