Solution for rapid detection of Enterobacter sakazakii and intestinal bacteria
Enterobacter & Enterobacter sakazaki (Cronobacter)
Enterobacteriaceae & Enteerobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter spp.)
Enterobacteria contain a large number of Gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria that are commonly found in the gut of all animals.
Common pathogens belong to this family, such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli O157, Shigella, Yersinia, and Cronobacter. These bacteria also contain environmental species that can often occur in food manufacturing environments. Using routine screening for enteric bacteria, their presence suggests potential contamination of pathogens. Test specific pathogens can be initiated if they are found to be present.
According to the European Commission Regulation (EC) 2073/2005, sand doors must not be included in infant formula, special medical use formulations and subsequent formulations. Enterobacter and Enterobacter sakazakii. When conditions allow these bacteria to grow, the presence of these bacteria poses a considerable risk. The combined enterobacteria and Enterobacter sakazakii test kits enable manufacturers to comply with EU regulations. The kit further allows for additional testing of Salmonella samples when the previously tested gut bacteria were positive.
Enterobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter) infection
Enteerobacter sakazakii(Cronobacter spp.) Infection
Enterobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter) has been reclassified in six species of pathogenic bacteria in the Enterobacteriaceae family. Although most of the infections are reported in adults, these are rarely serious. However, in infants (less than 2 months), it may cause bacteremia, meningitis, necrotizing enterocolitis, primarily immunocompromised in low birth weight neonates. Enterobacter sakazakii infection has been associated with infant formula, and some strains have survived in powdery areas for more than 2 years.
