Christmas rose to British prices

Christmas rose to British prices The WSTA (Wine & Spirit Trade Association) reminds consumers that if the UK government's minimum alcohol price policy is implemented before Christmas, alcohol prices will skyrocket.

WSTA said that less than a week away from Christmas, the British minimum liquor price policy will allow consumers to spend an average of 17 pounds.

WSTA investigated the impact of the alcohol minimum price policy. The staff purchased 50 bottles of different types of wine and spent 63.91 pounds, which was previously only 46.96 pounds.

WSTA chairman Miles Beale said: “Our survey shows that the minimum alcohol price policy during the Christmas period will put enormous pressure on the underprivileged families because they must at least prepare 17 more to purchase Christmas drinks. The government believes that this policy It will not affect consumers' celebration of Christmas, but from this point of view, this is an exaggeration. The British government needs to listen to the Cabinet's recommendations and consider repealing this absurd policy."

WSTA's survey shows that the price of three bottles has now risen from £10 to £14.63, and the price of three bottles of kava sparkling wine has also increased from £11.97 to £12.93.

At the same time, the staff in the survey also found that the price of whisky rose from 10.32 pounds to 14 pounds, sherry rose from the original 4.67 pounds to 5.63 pounds. WSTA also reminded consumers that the price of 20-bottle beer will also increase from £10 to £16.72.
