The 26-year-old Li Bo’s hometown is in Dongping Town, Anhua County, Yiyang City. In the Spring Festival when Li Bo was one year old, the family met at the grandmother's house. On the hob, Li’s grandfather’s grandmother was cooking tofu, and Li Bo climbed the pot and stretched his neck to see it, only to touch the iron pan, causing the boiling oil in the pot to splash on Li Bo’s face. Li Bo’s parents are all farmers. Due to the economic conditions, the family only took Li Bo to the town hospital for simple treatment. After the injury, Li Bo's neck and jaw were deformed, especially his mouth became very small.

Despite the flaws in appearance, Li Bo has always been proud of his family. In 2008, Li Bo graduated from the Graduate School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Hunan University and graduated successfully in 2011. Li Bo originally wanted to do foreign trade. After graduating, he went to Shenzhen, but did not find the ideal job and returned two months later. Li Bo’s aunt Li Linghui said that the foreign trade industry needs to deal with people often, and it will inevitably involve image issues. Although employers do not explicitly say that because of appearance issues, they will not be considered.

On December 12, Li Bo received a second operation in the hospital. Family members described Li Bo's return to the ward soon after he had a high fever and vomiting and diarrhea. The situation was very serious and he later lost his consciousness. On December 14th, Li Bo was sent to the intensive care unit. Afterwards, the family never saw Li Bo again. Until the evening of December 15, family members were informed that Li Bo died because of the rescue.

In the eyes of the classmates, Li Bo did not feel inferior because of the appearance issue. Li Bo’s high school classmate Liang Bin said that Li Bo’s grades from junior high school to high school have been among the top 3 in the class and have received numerous awards. Graduate student Chen Liang introduced that Li Bo is the coach of the college volleyball team and likes to sing and is very popular. "People with closed hearts will not participate in these activities."

On August 18, Li Bo said on his Tencent Weibo: "Howtoughlifeis, how strongyou should be." (How difficult life is, how strong you would be.) "One week before the second operation, Li Bo was still in QQ space. I told myself: "The people on the road are the most beautiful."

It is reported that Li Bo has two younger brothers. One is enrolled in Dalian University of Technology. One has just graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The parents originally expected that Li Bo after employment could support this family.
