Australian Dairy Gene Research Accelerates Dairy Development

Scientists from Australia's Cooperative Research Center have produced a map of the chromosomal genes of each dairy cow in Australia. These also use some of the world's cow genetic information. These maps will accelerate the understanding of the importance of genes for the development of the dairy industry. These maps can also be used to help dairy farmers select characteristic dairy cows, and genetic markers will tell dairy farmers which cows also have this type of offspring. This will also accelerate the progress of Australian dairy genetics. Therefore, it can be seen that the role of genetic maps is manifold. In addition, the map can also help the staff of the cooperative center to establish maps of other domestic animals. In the past decade, many scientists around the world have tried to establish genetic maps of cows from different regions and breeds. Up till now, there have been a lot of information databases on cow genes and markers. Prof. Frank Nicholas, the chief designer of the map from the University of Sydney, said that for the dairy industry, if we want to grasp the genetic advancement of each cow, we must understand the genetic information of each cow and must understand each head. Chromosomes, and the maps we built provide them with the best sources of information.
