High efficiency filter inspection method

1, high efficiency filter counting scanning method

Common in Europe, similar in the United States, followed by other countries. The current mainstream test method for high efficiency filters in the world. The main measuring instruments are high-flow laser particle counters or condensation tube counters (CNC). The counter is used to scan the entire air outlet surface of the high-efficiency filter. The counter gives the number and particle size of dust at each point. This method not only measures the average efficiency of the filter, but also compares the local efficiency of each point. Counting scanning is a rigorous method of testing high-efficiency filters, and it is a general trend to replace other traditional methods with this method.

2, high efficiency filter oil mist method

The oil source of Oil Mist is oil mist. The "quantity" is the turbidity of the air containing oil mist. The instrument is a turbidimeter. The filter efficiency of the oil mist particles was determined by the difference in turbidity of the gas sample. Although the Chinese standard stipulates that the oil mist method can be used, domestic manufacturers are more willing to use another sodium flame method specified by the same standard. Only some manufacturers who produce filter materials still use the oil mist method when measuring the filter material. Related standards: China GB6165-85, Germany DIN24184-1990.

3, high efficiency filter sodium flame method

The average diameter of salt spray particles specified by the Sodium Flame national standard is 0.4mm, but the measured result of the existing domestic equipment is 0.5mm. The measurement of the median diameter of the actual test salt spray particles in Europe was 0.65 mm. With the popularity of scanning methods, the sodium flame method is no longer used in Europe. The relevant domestic departments are revising the original national standards. Relevant standards: British BS3928-1969, European Eurovent 4/4, China GB6165-85.

4, high efficiency filter photometer scanning

Dust sources are typically polydisperse droplets, such as DOP fumes from Laskin nozzles. Use a photometer to scan the entire plane of the filter for leak detection. This scanning method quickly and accurately finds the leak point of the filter. Since the dust source is a polydisperse phase and the photometer cannot determine the particle size of the dust, this scanning method gives no "meaning of filtration efficiency". Some manufacturers and users believe that the efficiency of the filter has been determined as long as the quality and specifications of the filter paper are strictly controlled. Therefore, only the scan for the purpose of leak detection can ensure the quality of the filter. There is no corresponding standard for the photometric scanning leak detection method, but this method is very effective for the quality control of the production process, and the test equipment used is relatively simple, so some manufacturers currently use this method. The photometric scanning test bench can be easily changed to a counting scanning station, and it will be enough to buy a laser particle counter.

5, high efficiency filter DOP method

The test dust source is a 0.3 mm monodisperse phase DOP (plasticizer commonly used in the plastics industry) droplets. The "quantity" is the degree of turbidity of the air containing DOP. The instrument for measuring dust is a photometer. The efficiency of the high efficiency filter on the DOP particles is determined by the turbidity difference of the gas sample.
