Check the valve phase and remove the valve cover: Find the upper and lower dead points of the flywheel circle and the tank line; slowly turn the flywheel so that the piston just compress the top dead center position, install the dial indicator The bracket and the meter head allow the contact of the dial indicator to be perpendicular to the exhaust valve spring seat and maintain a certain pressure. The size of the dial indicator is preferably between 1-2, and the dial is rotated at the same time. Put a large indicator of the dial indicator on "0"; install an angle plate on the flywheel, slowly rotate the flywheel, pay attention to the change of the dial indicator, when it leaves the "0" value, it is the opening time of the exhaust valve. When the angle plate pointer is set to "0", the flywheel is continued to rotate. When its bottom dead center point is aligned with the tank engraved line, the angle value indicated by the angle meter pointer is the angle at which the exhaust valve opens before the bottom dead center. Continue to rotate the flywheel. When the dial indicator returns to “0” position, the exhaust valve is closed. At this time, the angle value of the pointer of the angle meter is the exhaust valve opening continuation angle. The same method can be used to check the opening and closing time of the intake valve and the opening continuation angle. 2. The phase of the valve phase adjustment is not accurate. The valve clearance can be properly changed in the valve standard gap to compensate for the valve phase, so that the engine's power and economy can be improved. For some engines, because the valve clearance is too large, the valve phase is reduced. If the valve clearance is adjusted to the standard value, the valve timing can be generally restored. If the valve phase angle is reduced due to cam wear, it can only be resolved by replacing the valve mechanism with the camshaft and other related parts.
